So the new Blu is out. I have to say i’m impressed that something with Madlib would be released so underground-like. Hell, I was reading (and anticipating) interviews about the project from months back and expecting the new album to come out with a bang, but here it is, in all of it’s lofi, rough edited, glory. From first viewing, there’s not much I can say. Think of Jesus + Below The Heavens lyrical word play together with typical Madlib beats + rough Her Favorite Colo(u)r grittiness. I’m still shuffling through the tracks and scurrying out some change to actually download & check out the album for myself.
Definitely take a listen, and judge it for yourselves. Besides, there has to be a reason why Blu wants it to sound this way, so why don’t you find out for yourself? Cop the album (digital download for now) for $15 USD here.
